The true rust free Damascus steel was discovered by Friedrich Schneider and Jürgen Schanz has taken over this special manufacturing process for Schneider Damascus, finishing each individual piece himself.

For more than 2000 years, Damascus steel has fascinated people with its unique patterning – born in fire and forged by the hands of a master smith. The secret is first revealed after an etching bath of acid, which gives the object its unique organic structure, and for Jürgen Schanz, the tough and hard material, has become the basis of his forging talent.
